The breeze at the port of Canaveral, Florida was intense and cold, giving the feeling yes, this is it, the Christmas vacation. The queues of guests at the port waiting to board was long. My skinned haircut and no mustache face put me in the mercies of the intense cold–inside my head was going numb, hands in my pocket for some warmth. I am glad I had my hooded shirt on to ease the cold that was preying on me with pride.
My wait in the cold, however, was not long. Thanks to the efficient organization of the Royal Caribbean International crew members who showed the magnitude of their repute by handling the check in of the immense crowd so well.
Aboard the Wonder of the Seas, twisting my head left to right, up and down, in marvel. The Wonder of the Seas is a melting pot of cultures and experiences.
Guests on the Wonder of the Seas were from every part of the world. The 6,988 guests represented almost every ethnicity, race, or tribe from across the world: Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, North America, and Australia.
The 2,300 international crew members are from 80 countries from around the world: Philippines, Indonesia, India, Barbados, the UK, South Africa, Kenya, The Gambia, Zimbabwe, Peru, Madagascar, and more.
Mike Szwajkowski, the cruise director, is from Toronto, Canada. Captain of the ridiculously large ship, Henrik Loy, is from Bergen, Norway. Sigit the housekeeper from Indonesia, Patricia from Peru, Monica from the Gambia, Djenytha from Madagascar, Chido from Zimbabwe and the Royal Promenade queen, Carmela from Philippines, all showcased the identity of hospitality, friendliness.
The cruise experience was enormous. Did I experience it all?
