Pepper Soup, One Bo, Udo — this weekend explore Basketmouth’s ‘Yabasi’

 

Yabasi is a debut album by the Eze Gburu Gburu of Nigeria, Basketmouth.

We Americans will not understand the proverbial lyrics in this not-a-shake-your-ass album, however, we will love the rhythmic flow of creativity in the music. You bet!

There are rap flows in some of the 10 tracks album that will excite us, though. Yabasi means Onions in the Igbo language.

The album, produced by Doktor Sett, is a soundtrack for this web series, Papa Benji—another track in the album that showcases Sett’s music-producing prowess.
