Having secured majority votes in two of the country’s metros and the possibility of winning the highest number of votes in two more could turn out yet to be the best wedding anniversary present Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane and his wife Natalie have received in their 11 years of marriage.
The couple are evidently celebrating their wedding anniversary today.
Maimane said on his Twitter account: “Today‚ I have been married to the same gal for 11 years. She is still my best friend and an incredible mother to our children. Ta @MrsMaimane.”
To which Natalie Maimane responded with: “Thank you my Darling. Wouldn’t want to go through life with anyone else. Here’s to many many decades together! 11yrs happy!”
WATCH: Late on Friday afternoon the DA celebrated being the biggest party in Tshwane ahead of the final results being announced. Maimane took the occasion to congratulates mayor-in-waiting Solly Msimanga.
allowfullscreen As of 9.40am, it now appears almost impossible for the ANC to pull ahead of the DA in Tshwane.
TSHWANE with 99% of the vote counted:
DA: 43.16%
ANC: 41.17%
EFF: 11.7%
If confirmed‚ this would be devastating for the ANC‚ with both the legislative (Cape Town) and administrative capitals (Tshwane) in opposition hands.
