In less than 48 hours after the release of the first The Voice SA album, as well as the singles of the top 13 contestants, the talent on the singing competition has already managed to dominate the South African iTunes charts, ranking first on both the album and the singles charts!

In a press statement from M-Net, it was revealed that Richard Stirton's version of the Simon & Garfunkel hit, Sounds of Silence earned him the number one spot, with Gavin Edwards following hot on his heels at number 2 with his interpretation of Coldplay’s Fix You.
Almur Marais, affectionately known by fans as Stilfontein also made the Top 10 with his take of the Alanis Morissette classic One Hand In My Pocket, while blind singer Vernon Barnard and Thembeka Mnguni are moving through the Top 40.

"We are thrilled to see how the public is responding to the talent from this competition as they take their first steps to building a future as a recording artist. As a label Universal Music South Africa is committed to nurturing and guiding them to a long and successful career," said Sipho Dlamini, Managing Director of Universal Musical SA - which was responsible for releasing the album and the singles.
