The pirates raided the mayor’s office today, demanding the key to the city — according to the Visit Tampa Bay’s post on its Facebook page.
In breaking news, the City of Tampa, via its Facebook page, said Gasparilla pirates kidnapped Mayor Jane Castor.
Castor, the vibrant Mayor, shared the City of Tampa’s post on her Facebook saying, “These no-goods scallywags actually thought I’d give up the key?? HA! Never!!!”
The Children’s Gasparilla was a swashbuckling adventure, and Castor was there to see the lil mateys on the parade routes.
Now, back to the raid by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla today — the key to the city is safe, Tampans believe. For how long, only Saturday can tell.
