On Thursday 6, June 2019, I was in Osogbo for the unveiling of Kare'le Oodua logo and the investiture of its ambassadors. But before the event which was slated for 3pm, my host, chief promoter of our culture, Erelu ASA of Nigeria, Funmilayo Rotiba who invited me for the event, took me and her other guests, Baba ASA Oloye Jimoh Aliu; Leading fashion brand in Nigeria and MBGN partner - AY Stitches; tourism enthusiasts from Tai Solarin University of Education and Black Festival (who took pictures of the exploration)to see a very potential tourism site in the capital of the most historical state in Nigeria, the state of Osun.
Genesis Art Gallery, is a place where art is aplenty to meet the choice of many. With these artworks, you will see deep insights to what art is to life, its beauty to humans, connection to every aspect of our lives, and the awesomeness of knowledge abounding in it.
It took us not more than few minutes into the gallery to see that art is a goldmine in the mentions of a country's resource but sadly, very sadly, it is ignored in Nigeria.
Our exploration of this centre of creativity and hospitality in Osogbo was an adventure of enlightenment into the know of what art truly is, as the curator & director of Genesis Art Gallery, Adeyinka Fabayo explained each piece of art to us.
In every art there is a story, it is on this evidence, stories of beauty, times gone by, and more through paintings, carvings, textiles, and wooden portraits are aplenty in the Genesis Art Gallery where collapsible furnitures, custom wall tiles (traditional & western), and ethnic furnitures are very much available for varietal choices.
Sitting on the Street of Bolarinwa, off Iyana Camp, ota efun, Osogbo, Genesis Art Gallery is a wealth of knowledge for tourists and a huge delight for lovers of art.
