Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and John Oyegun, national chairman of the ruling party were among the APC leaders who joined President Muhammadu Buhari for dinner on Wednesday.
The dinner started around 8:30pm at the new banquet hall of the presidential villa in Abuja.
Bisi Akande, former governor of Osun; Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Segun Oni, former governor of Ekiti state; Kayode Fayemi, minister of mines and steel development, were among the dignitaries at the event.
Governors at the meeting were Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) and Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa).
Some members of the national assembly, ministers and stakeholders from the zone also attended the dinner.
Before journalists were excused from the meeting, it was announced that Fayemi and Tinubu would make brief remarks before the dinner, while Odigie-Oyegun and the president will speak at the end.
