NFVCB ED:This is the first feat in the history of the Nigerian Movie Industry.

Overtime, the thoughts that bothered one's mind was that the industry has to be put right and the possibility of this requires one who is ever-constant in being proactive... One who will make that one mighty move that would cause and shift the industry to a positive path that is never visible . This, those in the industry's sphere of interest, greatly wanted but virtually didn't see the possibility of it.
Is there a possibility of finding one who would do no less than what he/she is appointed to do and be responsive to his duties?  further on in the effectiveness of his focal aim?

YES!!

Godfreytimes gathered the industry has been experiencing a massive wind of change and thanks in large to the executive director of National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB),Adedayo Thomas, who is responsible for this 'needful change'.

The Executive Director has made several unlike anything else moves that has yielded impacts in the industry that Marketers, movie producers, Actors and Actresses, stakeholders in the industry are already basking in the impact but chief among them is the raid of Alaba International Market,(where it is said to be the hub of piracy) by the NFVCB powered by the ED .

According to the veteran actor cum powerful broadcaster, Sadiq Daba, told the ED during his courtesy visit to him that; your accolades speaks for you and Allah will continue to direct you.

At the corporate brand unveiling of Africa Cinematography Festival, which the NFVCB attended, Thomas reiterated the Censors Board’s commitment to providing an enabling environment which will not only facilitate global film content production but also ensure that film and video investments is guaranteed through structured distribution and rights protections.

According to him, this was why the Board took the fight against unlicensed distribution, distribution of unclassified films and video works, the unapproved release of films and illegal import and export of films and video works to Alaba International Market in August, 2017.

The ED got an ovation when he informed the gathering that within five months of his appointment, the Board was able to raid the Alaba Market of unwholesome films and video works worth over N100 million. He also told them of the arrests of five major defaulters who are in police custody in Abuja and would be prosecuted soon.

This, according to him, is the first feat in the history of the Nigerian Movie Industry.

The ED told them that the present government only wants to support ideas that generate wealth for the Film and Video Censors Board. He told them that protection of ideas and intellectual property rights of stakeholders will generate wealth and not subsidy.

According to him, by the time the government finishes with the cleaning of the environment, there will be no need for subsidy because clean environments worldwide generates prosperity. He therefore called on all stakeholders to watch out for the Board’s Consumer Forum coming up at the Yankari Games Reserve, Bauchi, in November 2017.

He encouraged all the stakeholders to ensure they attend the forum as well as the ACF capacity building forum in November which are all platforms meant for the film industry in Nigeria to flourish.
