IEC boss to open special voting on Monday

The chairperson of the body overlooking the local government elections will be one of the first people to cast his vote in it.

As he is sure to occupied on Wednesdsay‚ Electoral Commission (IEC) commissioner Glen Mashinini will on Monday cast his special vote in ward 79800096 of voting district 32841716 – otherwise known as Dainfern College in Sandton.

“Special votes are available to all registered voters including disabled‚ infirm and pregnant voters as well as members of the security forces‚ election officials‚ the media and any other voters who are unable to visit their voting station on election day‚ August 3‚ 2016‚” IEC spokesperson Kate Bapela said previously.
Registration for special voting‚ which comes in two forms‚ closed on July 10.
