The Mother City still has the mother of all traffic jams.

For the second year‚ Cape Town is ranked as the most congested city in South Africa - and the 47th worst in the world - in the annual traffic index from Dutch navigation equipment maker TomTom.
Johannesburg is ranked 77th out of 174 cities listed‚ but Durban doesn't get a mention.

Cape Town residents spend an extra 40 minutes in traffic every day than the worldwide average‚ and Johannesburg motorists lose 35 minutes to congestion - the equivalent of six days a year.
The world's most congested metropolis is Mexico City‚ where congestion adds an average of 57 minutes to the daily commute‚ followed by Bangkok‚ Istanbul‚ Rio de Janeiro and Moscow.
