Nigel Farage is standing down as the leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) – saying "In future‚ I won't be constrained when I answer questions. The real me will now come out".

These are five statements from Farage‚ when he was “constrained”.
1: He told the president of the EU‚ Herman Van Rumpuy‚ “You have the charisma of a damp rag‚ and the appearance of a low-grade bank clerk.”

2: “Godfrey’s [Bloom‚ former UKIP MEP] comment that ‘no employer with a brain in the right place would employ a young‚ single‚ free woman’ has been proved so right. With this lunacy‚ that if you have children you get three months paid leave off work‚ or six months paid leave off work – he absolutely got it spot on” - Farage said in an old interview according to Huffington Post.
3: On the Paris attacks: "There is a very strong argument that says that what happened in Paris is a result - and we've seen it in London too - is a result I'm afraid of now having a fifth column living within these countries.”
4: "The good news for us who are smokers is that we are far better off here than if we had been at Michael Barrymore’s house. Because there they removed all the ashtrays on the basis that now they chuck all the fags in the pool."
5: “Puppet Papademos is in place”
