Once again, patrons were last Saturday treated to a good time when the Accra International Conference Centre(AICC) played host to yet another edition of Lord of the Ribs.
The comedy show which was laced with music performances, featured humour merchants from Ghana and Nigeria.
DKB opened the show around 9: 30pm with a tribute to Bob Okala. He praised Okala for contributing immensely to Ghanaian comedy. Excited DKB who was also the M.C on the night, cracked jokes about the vulgar nature of Gas and took the opportunity to say a lot of unclean word.
The excitement with which DKB introduced Nigerian comedian, Akpororo, died down when he cracked jokes about music group Praye having very bad mouth odour. While some people thought it was a joke and laughed, many were those who were angry about what he said.
Akpororo who kept winding his waist for about ten minutes dwelled too much on sex adding that slim guys like himself have big manhood. Although Akpororo spoke about other stuff, most of his jokes were centred on sex.
Comedians Hogan and Francis Odega could not utilise the few minutes they had on stage. The two were on stage talking about ladies farting.
Jacinta, the only female comedian on the bill, proved to patrons she’s got what it takes to make people double up with laughter.
Jacinta made fun of the bad sound track of our local movies and the fact that witches in movies are always laughing anytime they want to kill someone.
She spent about 10 minutes on stage and she kept the audience laughing with her humorous words.
Comedians Bovi and Buchi were also present to split the sides of patrons.
Comedian, O.B from Ghana was so good on the night that it was no surprise he had a standing ovation after his performance.
He spoke about the hardship of the economy, a stammerer friend of his who always wants to describe something, and the bad English some of our Ghanaian footballers speak.
Musically, Ackah Blay, Amandzeba, Irene Logan, Praye and Nii Funny thrilled the crowd with their acts. Almost all the musicians lived up to expectation especially Amandzeba who proved that he is a legend in the game.
The event had a nice stage with very good lighting. The sound was on point and the security personnel made sure everyone was comfortable.
But for some of the comedians using too much profane words, Lord of the Ribs, put together by Event Factory, was a very good show.
